Battery Management System
ENNOID-BMS XLITE SHIELD
XLITE-SHIELD is a discharge path control add-on for the XLITE.
Description:
Built-in pre-discharge circuit
Solid state relay (SSR) for discharge control
Main fuse (from 60A to 125A)
Discharge current monitoring (I2C)
Load voltage monitoring (I2C)
XT90PW-M or XT60PW-M for the battery main input
XT90PW-F or XT60PW-F for the load output
Compatible with XLITE-V2, V3 , V4 & Master-XLITE
Single setting in VESC-tool firmware V6.05
Low power consumption (Less than 0.5W during operation, less than 10uA when OFF)
Dimensions
XT90: 35mm x 90mm x 15mm
XT60: 30mm x 73.5mm x 15mm
How to use:
Connect the SHIELD to the battery pack and the load (The load is usually a VESC equipped with an XT60 or XT90 main power connector)
Link the 6 pin connector between both XLITE & XLITE-SHIELD
Connect a momentary N.O. switch to the XLITE (the 3 pin connector)
Turn ON the XLITE, connect over Bluetooth and configure your settings for your battery pack and also for enabling the SHIELD
ENNOID-BMS->Advanced->Discharge->Disabled/Enabled/Onewheel
ENNOID-BMS->Sleep->not used timeout->"Your preferred value" (usually between 300 to 1200 seconds with an XLITE-SHIELD so that the XLITE don't go to sleep when not being used)
From there, your XLITE controls your entire system. The XLITE-SHIELD will do the pre-discharge at init, monitor the load voltage and the discharge current.
Note that with the "Discharge->Enabled" option, the power output will be turned OFF if any issue is detected with your battery pack during operation.
For critical application, use the "Discharge->Onewheel" option. After passing all safety tests and pre-discharge at init, the output will stay enabled until the power button is being long pressed or until the "not used timeout" has passed.
The power button on the VESC is not needed anymore. Use the XLITE power button instead to turn the entire battery power ON/OFF.
Options:
XT90 or XT60
MOSFET voltage for solid state relay, from 60V up to 200V
881 series SMD fuse, up to 125VDC, from 60A up to 125A
Default is 60A-125V fuse & 150V MOSFET, good for up to 30s onewheel battery pack
