MK8-PRO is a VESC capable of handling up to 150VDC with twice the current output of the actual MK8
Description:
Low side shunt current sensor
Up to 150V tolerant ~32S capable (DCDC converter rated 155VDC, large bulk capacitors rated 160VDC, MOSFETs are the limiting factor)
150A Battery, 300A Phase (AWG 10 wires limited to ~130A continuous, XT90 is limited to 90A continuous) Note that many others ESC have exaggerated specs! 300A is for guidance only
Optional Bluetooth module or MK8-LCM (mounted separate onto the removable cover)
Accelerometer IMU (BMI160)
Automatic & manual shutdown (requires external N.C. momentary button, hibernation current ~30uA, long press to turn ON & OFF)
Compact aluminum case (possibility to make it watertight)
DC Input 10 Gauge silicon wire to XT90 Male (use comments box for customized connector)
Phase Output 10 Gauge silicon wire to 6mm Female Bullet connectors (use comments box for customized connectors)
ADC1 and ADC2 internally equipped with 10k Ohm pulldown resistors
Aux. power outputs:
12V : 0.4A
3.3V : 1A
5V : 0.75A
Enclosure dimensions: 58mm x 106mm x 21mm
Connectivity: JST-GH-1.25mm (CAN, SWD, 2 x UART, HALL, ADC, SERVO, 12V), USB-C
Updates:
03/2025: More aggressive gate resistors value for faster switching and better overall efficiency. Aux. 12V output increased to 11.8V
11/2024: V6.05 firmware labelled as "LP" is for "Long Press" power button delay. Approx. 3 seconds button hold is required for turning OFF. LP firmware will disable auto-shutdown
10/2024: Voltage clamping on ADC and HALL inputs
For using a momentary N.O. button instead of the default N.C., you can purchase one of those adapters:

MK8-PRO with customized connector (AWG 12 cables, XT60 & 4mm bullets)
Four 4.1mm holes are available to interface with external devices ( CAN, power switch, sensors, HALL) Use preferably with 3.7mm diameter Julet connector (HiGo Mini-B for ebike)
For application that does not require a 30s cell count e.g.: 18S, 20S, 24S or 28S you can request an MK8 with lower voltage MOSFET that will improve thermals and increase the VESC current peaks capability, see table below:
Power ON/OFF button: Latching type button is supported, change the setting in VESC-tool->app settings->general->shutdown mode->Always OFF
5 to 10 seconds are needed at startup for the VESC to respond to the button input
Momentary button must be removed before a firmware update otherwise, the VESC might become bricked
Any VESC need precharge! Failure to do so might damage the MK8, especially at 30s!
